Why is detailing necessary?

Your car, boat. motorcycle, or RV accumulates numerous contaminants that can harm the finish. Pollutants, mud, salt, dirt, sand, bugs, tar, rain, sun, etc. are extremely harmful to the gel coat or paint. Detailing promotes longevity to the paint and helps retain the value of the vehicle. Professional detailing is not just a luxury - it is an investment that has become a necessity to maintain your vehicle!

Why not just take your car to the car wash?

Automatic car washes remove loose contaminants, dirt, and grime but are unsafe for your car's paint. They use harsh chemicals that strip the wax and protection from your car, and the brushes can damage your car's paint by causing scratches called "car wash marks" or swirls, scuff marks, surface abrasion damages. Long-term washing at a commercial car wash damages the paint every time you bring it to the car wash!

How often should I have my car detailed?

We recommend having your car detailed every 4 months to maximize protection, every car, Boat, RV have different needs. It is critical to have your vehicle detailed every six-months.

Every new car needs to be protected. Now don’t be a fool and purchase the $120 special or that incredible-wax from your local car wash – most are a complete sham (basically a spray on sealant that coats the car for a month or two).

Additionally, contrary to popular belief, the factory does not put a protective layer of wax on the car for you. The car you receive is basically naked with clear coat protecting the paint and nothing to protect the clear coat itself. This leaves your finish highly susceptible to environmental contaminants that cause imperfections.

All you have to do to combat this is give your car a once-over with a quality paint sealant. You’ll be protected for upwards of 6 months (depending on the product) from dust, debris, fallout, and UVs. If your budget allows, have an assessment done on your car, boat, RV, or motorcycle for our premium ceramic coatings which last longer than traditional wax and sealant.

How often should I wash my car?

Washing your car monthly is the minimum recommended frequency. We recommend washing weekly or bi-weekly. We are more than happy to offer hand washing and monthly maintenance programs to make it easier for you to keep up with your car’s proper care.

What is a "clay bar" or the "clay process"?

Clay barring is a process used to remove paint contaminants on the paint such as bugs, tar, road grime, fallout, tree sap, some paint over-spray, and other contaminants that washing cannot remove. The clay process cleans the paint surface to remove the contaminants that grip the paint.

Does your car need the clay bar process before a detail?

YES! Claying is one of the most important steps in cleaning the paint, and cleans the paint better than a wash alone.

Important note: 'CLAYBAR' is not designed to remove oxidation as some discount detailers would have you believe. Dead, oxidized paint should always be removed thoroughly with a compound, then the paint is polished, waxed, and sealed. A simple 'clay & wax' can ONLY be done if your vehicle's paint is in very good condition, to begin with.

What is Oxidation Removal?

UV radiation is universal, unrelenting, and can never be eliminated. Not only does it burn human skin, it burns the exterior "skin" of motor vehicles, aircraft, boats, and trailers. This process is called "oxidation". Every surface is fair game. Paint, plastic, rubber, and vinyl, just to name a few.

Paint turns dull, then chalky. Rubber seals and bumpers turn white, dry out, and become hard as a rock. Vinyl trim will also turn white and eventually crack. Hard plastic (air dams, side mirrors, trim) react similarly to paint.

What is the difference between polishing and waxing?

Polishing your car brings out the depth, gloss and shine for that "wet look" that most car enthusiasts crave. However, polishing adds no protection to your vehicle and in fact usually strips off any previous coat of wax or sealant on the paint. For this reason, it is essential that the car is waxed or synthetically sealed after polishing to "lock in" the polish and protect your car, yielding long-lasting protection and shine.

Why do I need a wax or sealant on my car?

Waxes and sealants are the only way to protect your vehicle's finish. Rain, acid rain, snow, sunlight, bugs, tar, road grime, pollen, and bird droppings can all eat your paint. Keeping your car well-protected will reduce the chances of these elements harming your car while providing a glossy finish and shine. Having your car waxed or sealed is no less important than changing your oil.

My car is brand new. Do I really need it detailed?

Absolutely! New cars have usually been sitting on the lot or have been in transit for months before you drive away with them. New car dealerships rarely carry out full details on new vehicles, so there are a plethora of contaminants in your car's paint. Having your new car detailed will start you off on the right foot and ensure there is a proper layer of wax or sealant on the paint. Ask about our new vehicle protection package or ceramic coating finishes!

Will I get more money for my car when I sell or trade it in if I have it cleaned professionally?

Industry statistics reveal that you can get on average $500 to $1,000 more when you sell or trade your vehicle by having it cleaned by a professional detailer.
